Swimming at Aunt Kim's Pool

We were invited to go swimming at Aunt Kim and Greg's home. It has been very hot lately and we all thought it would be a fun way to cool off together!
"Last one in is a rotten egg" I must say everyone had great form. Heather you look a little tentative. No worry the water temperature around 90 in the Scott pool.
The race is on....... can you figure out who made it to the other side of the pool faster?
The kids all took turns getting lifted high out of the water. One, two, three, four....... 10. Dad how many sets of military press do we need to do. Stephanie is too light can we do 5 sets. Notice the perfectly pointed toes.
Heather is holding on for dear life!!! She is employing the elbow grab for added stability.
You guys need to put down those arms a girl can only put up with so much underarm diffusion.
Not as graceful, but lots more fun.
"Hey Mom can you bring me my soda?"
Ok on the count of three throw me over to the deep end!
Yea ! I made it. Actually it took them quite a few times to get it right.
Richie you need to clean those toe jams.
I can't now I am busy flexing my muscles!
Come on Heather stand up !!
Rachel did not last long.... look at the next image.
"YOU CAN DO IT"
Oops...... !
Success........ athletic strength and balance. Thats what I am talking about.
Ok, This is one classy group of cheerleaders trying to make a pyramid.
Good job Rachel..... Nice try Heather !
Good job Heather you made it to the top.
In the process of getting Heather to the top,
she busted Corey in the lips. Way to take one for the team.
Nice job ladies you are all in the air. It took a while but they did it.
Awe this is the life. No more jumping for me.
Yea !! We did it.

"Corey, lets do the praying mantis. "
It frightened the girls so much they jumped in ahead of the guys.
This is the Arnold Schwarzenegger jump and dive. I want to pump you up !
Here we have the twinkle toe jump. Ok I give you girls a .......9.6
Rachel you need to point your toes and Steph I need a little more height.
Hey a 9.6 is not bad congratulations.
Yeah! Summer at it's finest!!!
Big time header, Score......

Utah Lake

This morning Grandpa, Corey and I went cat fishing in Utah Lake. Richie was at soccer camp and the girls don't like to go fishing at the Lake because there is some serious fly populations. They can get quite annoying.
Corey caught the biggest fish weighing about 4 pounds. He needed help landing the fish so Grandpa held his fishing pole while he scooped up the cat. Catfish have spiny fins so we left the fish in the net. Nice catch !
We caught and lost a lot of fish. Our lines were too light for the big ones. A few times we all had fish ether on the line or just taken from the water. We had one that ran along the bank and it pulled so hard I had to run with it until it finally broke the line. There are some big fish in that lake.
Grandpa pointing out that Corey is the Catfish man. The fishing was so good grandpa wants to go again tomorrow morning at 5: 00 a.m. Two Grandpa thumbs up!!

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy !

Payson Lake Update!
We were recently informed that we had forgotten to add photos of our sweet little Heather. We went through our images and this is what we found...
Heather is in the midst of a read-a-thon and did not to be interrupted by fishing.

Payson Lakes

This last week we gathered up the fishing gear and went in search for bigfoot. Luckly we had more success catching fish than locating a stinky dirty Sasquatch. We took up the two trucks and a tent for the guys. Richie and Corey did a good job of setting up the tent even though neither of them are eagle scouts. I wish more were able to come and spend the weekend with us. Perhaps next year we can plan a trip to Pine Valley. Talk it over and when you all come up for Christmas (yes that means everyone) we can plan a time. I documented a few of our activities while at the Lake, I hope you enjoy the images. Click on them if you want a larger version of the image.

It was not long and Grandma had a fish on her line. Corn colored power bait with some custom sparkles did the trick. Her quick crustacean like reflexes allow her to set the hook with amazing sensitivity. Other anglers can not feel the every so slight nudges and nibbles whereas grandma has the gift. Congratulations grandma !! Here she is moving up and down the bank trying to land her fish.

This fish swallowed her scrumptious bait ( I do not know this by experience I just assume it is tasty, really I am not kidding I have not eaten power bait, I promise). Here Grandma is proudly showing her catch and under her breath I heard something like "in your face Corey."
Grandma needs Grandpa G to help take off the fish. This is her only weakness as an angler. As you can see both are laughing at us for not catching as many fish. Just wait you two.

Here Richard is celebrating a great hook up by Corey. Notice how focused Corey is on landing this fish.
A proud grandpa and BYU Basketball Camp ALL STAR enjoy a moment at the lake.
Stand back because Mr. Castmaster is performing another masterful cast with pinpoint accuracy. I bet Richie has carpal casting syndrome after this weekend. He caught some nice fish with a gold 1/4 oz castmaster. Good job Sir Richard ! Keep on casting !
Lynne (the Young Grandma G) also joined in the harvest of rainbow trout. She had fun relaxing and taking an occasional nap between bites. She is the only one I know that can catch a fish in her sleep. Wait Heather can do the same.
Daniel a fellow "castmaster" tricked a fish into bitting his gold lure. Nice goatee !!
Little Jacob did a great job. He was very content on Jessica's back and was very interested in what everyone was doing. It brought back memories to watch Dan and Jessica take care of little Jacob. We took our kids when they were little camping and fishing. They loved it !
Jacob and Jessica teamed up for some great success on the lake. Way to go !!
Here Jacob is trying out his new fishing pole. No "castmaster" yet. Notice the fixation on the fish.
"I almost got it.... just a few more inches."
Jacob is reaching out for the fish but is not quite sure he wants to touch it. Everything is so new.....what an interesting world for young Jacob. He is experiencing new things every day.
"Hey Mom you moved the fish..... bring it back."
After catching many fish, the boys became restless and walked off to throw rocks at various targets. Good thing they don't play baseball. Ha!
While I cleaned the fish everyone else ate lunch and played games. Here Jacob is in the middle of everything. It was a hot afternoon but later around 4:00 cloud cover and a light sprinkle cooled things down.
After the games we all had some fun arm wrestling.
Dan and I competed with our left hands and it was an exhilarating contest.
I gave it everything I had but just could not overcome his youthful power. My arm is still sore after three days of recovery. Look out Dan maybe next time I will get you.
Dan easily took everyone else to the table even the young buck Jimmy!
I (Rich) took second place by placing Jimmy on the table. I could not let Rachel's boyfriend beat me. Dan is one thing but Jimmy had to go down. It took some doing but he finally succumbed to my relentless beating.
To cheer up Jimmy we took him fishing and his defeat was quickly washed away with a 10 inch rainbow trout.
Here Jimmy feels much better .....looking cool on his rock..... ready to catch another fish. Every now again Rachel and Jimmy's eyes would meet and a blissful smile would ensue.
It did not take long for Rachel to catch a fish.
Rachel is the master of the catch and swoop. Once the fish is one she quickly brings in the fish and swoops / swings the fish the shore. What is normally a clumsy and ackward move she makes it one fluid motion. Congradulations Rachel nice move. You-Da- Wowman
Here Rachel and Jimmy show off our catch.
After our evening fishing we went back to camp and had fish for dinner. Here grandma and grandpa are cooking fish and fried potatoes.
Grandpa and I get the first fish. There's not much better than freshly caught fish from the frying pan. Great stuff !
Richie enjoyed a bag of starburst candies over the fire. I just cannot get into the roasted starburst trend. I guess it is a generation thing.Lynne is the master of roasting biscuit dough over and open fire. She uses a revolutionary method that I call the weave. Once roasted, the pastry-like delicacies can be drizzled with honey or other delicious liquids. I was really tired and went to bed around 9:30 and was not able to tell any scary stories. Next time !!
The next day (monday morning) the five of us went fishing. The bite was hot and started to slow around 9:00. We all enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to have everyone spend some time with us. Talk to you all later, Rich
