Heather's Volleyball Tournament

Recently we spent a few days with Heather and her Volleyball team. They played in a v-ball tournament in St. George Utah. Lynne, Richie and I drove Heather and one of her friends to St. George. The first thing we noticed is the relentless heat. Wow it was 110 outside and it just saped all our energy. luckily the games were held in the Dixie Center with great air conditioning.
Heather did a great job during the entire tournament. I was worried that she would have problems keeping her sugars stable but she was able to play every game from beginning to end. She usually plays lebro but they needed a setter so she steped up and did a great job. She had with lots of over passes and net balls she had plenty of action at the net. Her long arms make her a little deceiving.
Nice tip down the line.
Heather sets a free ball deep into the back court.
Heather has an awesome serve. Her large hands give her ball a floating knuckle ball action. It can be very hard to return. She also has very large feet for stability.

I don't think Heather has ever jumped so much in her life. As a lebro she does not have to jump.
Many over passes resulted in Heater having a scoring opportunity.
Take that....... you.... don't come to my side again. Enjoy the rest of the images of Heather playing v-ball.

4th of July FunTime

4th of July was spent swimming with the Scott's and going to the Stadium of Fire. We currently do not have any images of the SOF. Rachel has some and will add the images at a later time. After swimming for a while we barbecued hot dogs and enjoyed a little lunch on Kim's deck.
Diving boards are so much fun. I am past the age of projecting my self high in the air and subjecting my body to the forces of gravity. Nice Jump Sir Richard! Just remember what every goes up must come down.Grandpa spent some time in the pool floating around. It was good exercise and fun to have him in the pool with us. Here Corey is trying to help him stay afloat.
Corey received some underwater assistance from Richie but I do not think they were actually helping grandpa. despite their assistance Grandpa stayed afloat and enjoyed his time in the pool.
Cousins having fun in the pool pose for the camera.
Heather is preparing herself for the St. George volleyball tournament by meditating in mid air.
Nice hair...... a stylish dismount.
Grandma G and Dan chilling while the little ones play in the pool.
Image taken before grandpa entered the pool. He looks much more relaxed outside of the pool then inside the pool. I think Corey and Richie had something to do with that.
Just hanging with my hommies. I sure had a good time with the boys this summer. I hope I can remember it for years to come.
Nice lines Richie, just don't forget to point our toes.
Hey What's up you all !!
Little Jacob was passed around to different people but here he is playing with his mom. I was surprised how much he enjoyed the water.
Jacob is playing the side to side game. He loves to play this game.
Hey mom lets play the side to side game.

Swimming at Aunt Kim's Pool

We were invited to go swimming at Aunt Kim and Greg's home. It has been very hot lately and we all thought it would be a fun way to cool off together!
"Last one in is a rotten egg" I must say everyone had great form. Heather you look a little tentative. No worry the water temperature around 90 in the Scott pool.
The race is on....... can you figure out who made it to the other side of the pool faster?
The kids all took turns getting lifted high out of the water. One, two, three, four....... 10. Dad how many sets of military press do we need to do. Stephanie is too light can we do 5 sets. Notice the perfectly pointed toes.
Heather is holding on for dear life!!! She is employing the elbow grab for added stability.
You guys need to put down those arms a girl can only put up with so much underarm diffusion.
Not as graceful, but lots more fun.
"Hey Mom can you bring me my soda?"
Ok on the count of three throw me over to the deep end!
Yea ! I made it. Actually it took them quite a few times to get it right.
Richie you need to clean those toe jams.
I can't now I am busy flexing my muscles!
Come on Heather stand up !!
Rachel did not last long.... look at the next image.
"YOU CAN DO IT"
Oops...... !
Success........ athletic strength and balance. Thats what I am talking about.
Ok, This is one classy group of cheerleaders trying to make a pyramid.
Good job Rachel..... Nice try Heather !
Good job Heather you made it to the top.
In the process of getting Heather to the top,
she busted Corey in the lips. Way to take one for the team.
Nice job ladies you are all in the air. It took a while but they did it.
Awe this is the life. No more jumping for me.
Yea !! We did it.

"Corey, lets do the praying mantis. "
It frightened the girls so much they jumped in ahead of the guys.
This is the Arnold Schwarzenegger jump and dive. I want to pump you up !
Here we have the twinkle toe jump. Ok I give you girls a .......9.6
Rachel you need to point your toes and Steph I need a little more height.
Hey a 9.6 is not bad congratulations.
Yeah! Summer at it's finest!!!
Big time header, Score......
