Corey Comes to Town

Corey Arrives In Utah

Last Saturday Corey arrived in Salt Lake City while we were coming home from our fishing trip. Jessica picked him up at the airport and brought him to our house. A few hours later and I had him out in the Cobra for a ride. I think he liked it..... if I remember rightly he said something like this, "I can't wait until my Mom gets me a car like this."

This past Monday Corey started his BYU basketball camp. Grandpa and I took him to pick up his oreintation and showed him where he will eat lunch and dinner. Food is very important to young athletes so I wanted to make sure he could find nourishment. He has been having a good time and I have watched his games every night. Corey is doing a great job moving the ball up the court and getting to the basket. He has also hit some long range 3 pointers. Below are a few images I took during the first night. The lighting was not ideal for my equipment but hey at least it is something.

Here is an image of Corey and his teammates. Coach has divided the boys into two squads and they sub in as a unit. Corey is on the first team. He plays at both a 1 and 2 spot.

I dare you to drive on me... come on make my day.

No look pass to teammate.

Oh yes I am in shooting positions...... what anywhere is shooting position for me. Ha!

You should have never come out on me young Jedi I will now take you to school as I drive past you and all your teammates.

Corey splitting the defense.... well there were three white defenders but that does not matter Corey took them to the hoop.
Check out this Dr. J move. This is what Chuck Norris would do if he was going to the hoop.

Opponents trembled when they approached Corey's defensive stance.

Just one of the many layup opportunities.
Speed and allusive panther-like speed gave him many open lay ups.

I think I will use the glass this time.

Up and in from down town.

Can you say follow through.
Catch me if you can.

Jeff Hornacek ( Utah Jazz ) like move to the middle.
It did not matter how big the opponents, Corey would take it them.

OK who wants some of this. Step up so I can put you out of your misery.
I will make it quick but not painless.

Time for a cross over..... see ya!

Are you going to give me this again?

Come on get over here and set me a pick. I want to shoot another three!!

Come on try and get the rebound. Not a chance!

If you only had speed like me maybe you can catch me. Never !

Don't try to out jump me, it is useless young padawon.

Ok.... fine I will put a fall-a-way jumper in your face if you like. Aw that feels good !

Corey proceeds to collect his All-Star T-Shirt.

The walk was long but worth it. Four hard days of b-ball and lots of all you can eat pasta.

"Ok Coach Rose (Head BYU Coach) I will shake your hand
and play for you when I graduate from High School"

It was fun to see both these fine young men represent the Glassford name at camp.
You parents would have been proud of them. I know I was.

Tyler, I have your images that you can pick up when you come over for Sunday Dinner.

Thanks you two for a fun week of basketball. Keep working hard and good things will happen. Remember when you are not practicing and working out your opponents are.
Do your best and bag the rest.
