Halloween Time

Fall is in the air which means it is time for Halloween fun and costumes and carving pumpkins. I am so glad that Jessica and Dan are living here or we may not have even enjoyed Halloween this year. We have been really busy at school working, soccer games and volleyball games but every time we would come home,
Jessica would have Jacob running around in his costume or
she would be carving up cute pumpkins to decorate our home.
Rich, Grandpa and Richie grew all our pumpkins this year and Jacob loves touching, hitting and playing with them. Our largest pumpkin weighed in at just over 90 pounds and three other were about 70 pounds. Next year we hope to break the 150 pound mark!!

  1. That was the most frustrating pumpkin carving of my life. I have never had such a hard time and had such an allergic reaction to pumpkin guts in my life. But it was worth it, you have to carve at least one pumpkin for Halloween. Next time I will pick a smaller pumpkin and gloves that go up to my elbow.

  2. Jacob in that lion costume reminds me of his mother when she was dressed as a bunny for Halloween at Wymont Terrace. Wow! How times have past. That is absolutely the cutest picture. Sure miss you guys.

  3. Jacob is so cute! I love that Halloween is so fun for kids. I wish they made cure costumes for adults (it never looks as cute on us). Your trees are yellow!?! I love that your trees get color. We are actually putting the same trees in our new house's yard, but I am not sure if the weather will allow them to change color here. Maybe we will try some pink cherry trees. :) or evergreens? Ha, ha! Looks like Fall in your neck of the woods. We are so jealous!

  4. Oh, and Cris asks, "Is that a Tulip Yellow Poppler that I see?"

  5. Hello you fellow bloggers. We did have a great time over Halloween. We are looking forward to some time off over Thanksgiving break. It has been a long time since I have dressed up but I could go for a lion suit.

Hey Cris the tree is a European Little Leaf Lindon Tree (Tilia cordata). A great tree for Northern Utah. I don't think it could handle the extreme heat in LV. We can grow the Tulip Tree here but have not planted one. It is one tree that is on my to buy list. I am sure there are some tree species you can plant in LV that will give you color. Check with your local nursery and let me know what they tell you.

    Talk to you all later,

    Rich
