Mountain View High: Region Champions (10 wins, 2 losses), and 5th place in State of Utah.
Heather's volleyball season has been very good. She is a senior this year which means this is the last year of high school volleyball for our family. I must say that Heather has made it wonderful and we have thoroughly enjoyed going to her games. She was the team captain and also the setter of the team.
This was the first year that she was the setter for varsity. Last year she was outside hitter, and the two years before that she was their defensive specialist called 'lebro'. I was amazed at how well she could pick up a new position and practice and learn it until she understood how to play that position!
I remember at the first of the year, she was struggling to understand how to cover the right side block. She talked a lot with Rachel (her sister) and she taught her how to watch the hitter, watch the ball, and Heather practiced that and by the time the season came to an end, she was blocking the opponents as good as anyone else on the team. Her picture was in the paper quite often along with a nice write up on her stats.
She really gave this season everything she had, and was always SO positive! I was really proud of how she took on the leadership role and helped the team take 5th place in the state of Utah.
She also had a lot of family support: Grandparents, parents, brother, and many friends!

Congratulations Heather on a wonderful Volleyball season!!!
Congratulations Heather on a wonderful Volleyball season!!!
Yay Heather! It was so much fun to watch you play volleyball this year! I wish we could have come to more games. With the stupid flue and cold season I kinda kept Jacob and I away from the sickness infested walls of schools. Congrats on being the MVP, you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteHeather, YOU ROCK!! I love watching you play, it just makes me want to jump on the court and play with you. I'm so glad that I was able to go to your last game!! You're amazing. LOVE YOU!
ReplyDeleteHey Heather,
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, really enjoyed watching this season. I watched most of the games through the camera and have a much different view than most. Documenting your successful season will be a highlight of my career as a photographer. As a father I was very proud of your performance every game. I know you might find this odd, since I was always there to give you instruction and advise, but I am and was very proud of you. Keep up the good work.
Love you Dad
WOO HOO!! Way to go Heather! I know exactly how you feel Rachel, I got to go see Heather play this year when I was in Utah and part of me was seriously waiting for my turn to go warm up in the back gym so I could run out there and play with Heather.
ReplyDeleteIt's sad to know that the Glassford Volleyball Legacy at Mountain View is over... but I'm glad you ended it with a bang Heather :) You have some serious talent.
