Hum !!

I have not posted for a while. Life has been very busy with soccer, volleyball and school. Even with all the ciaos I should have posted. The first quarter of school just ended and Lynne and I have finished grades and we are ready for a new term. over the last few years I have been somewhat discouraged by the amount of student procrastination. Parents..... teach your kids to plan ahead.... put education at the top of the list.

Grandpa and Grandma G have left for Las Vegas and will be spending the winter in the big desert to the south. We miss them all ready and wish they did not have to leave. If it was my choice I would have my entire family all living in the same city so we could enjoy Sundays together.... fishing... bug collecting.... gardening... going for walks etc. We know that Chad and Angela are getting an important education in Seattle and we are fortunate to see them at least twice a year. Cell phones / texting has helped us keep in touch with Chad and Angela. We hear from them at least once a week.

We live on this Earth for a short time. A big thank you for my kids taking an interest in the lives of their siblings. When I see my kids together, getting along and enjoying themselves I am a happy man. We are very lucky to have Dan and Jessica 20 minutes North and Rachel and Jimmy 20 minutes to the South. Chad and Angela are a little farther away about..... 14 hours north west.

The two youngest are not very young anymore and will be grown and on their own within 2-3 years. May we all keep in touch with our loved ones and nurture these relationships.

We love you all,

Rich and Lynne

  1. I do feel very lucky that Dan and I have been able to live and raise our little family so close to both of our parents. I want my kids to have a strong bond and relationship with their Grandparents, and I believe Jacob already does at the ripe age of two.

On a side note: Congratulations to Heather on doing awesome in her last volleyball game! Sorry I missed it, but I have the newspaper clipping. Good luck this weekend!

  3. Mom G - Thanks so much for the note! I made sure Miah saw it and I think you made his day! He's been very frustrated with his job lately and it made him feel happy again:) We love love you and all of your girls and I can't believe Heather is almost done with HS!
Also, I have a big thank you to share with you, even though it seems weird to do on a blog, but I don't have any other way of telling you! I taught a lesson the other day in Young Women's about gratitude and had the girls write a note thanking someone for something they did for them. Well I wanted to tell you about a time that you helped us. One club season(well more than one) Miah and I were quite tight on cash. We had paid our tithing as we were both taught to do, but by doing so we did not have enough money to pay all of our bills. We were about $100 short. I didn't know what to do but was really trying to have faith that since we paid our tithing everything would work out. Well the week before that last bill was due Miah had a private lesson with Rachel. When we were done and you were paying Miah you said that you had just decided to go ahead and pay him in advance for the next month of lessons so the check was for about $120 (I don't remember the exact amount). I just wanted to give you a big kiss, but I didn't want anyone to know we were that broke! Anyway, I never thanked you and I told the girls the story and promised that I would make sure to tell you thanks. I don't know why you decided to pay him in advance, but thank you for being in tune with the spirit and helping us when we needed it. Talk about a testimony builder for us on the importance of paying tithing! Thanks momma g for everything! We love you guys!!

  4. I feel so lucky to have grown up in such a wonderful family. I truly feel like we are so close and even though we had our spats, I think we were closer as teens than most siblings are.
You guys know that I miss you very much, but at the same time we feel like we're doing the right thing, and once school is done who knows where life will take us?
I feel so blessed to be able to come home for Christmas this year again and to see you all! I'm so excited!!!
